💡 Starting a Phone Call

Caller (Arayan):

Answering (Cevaplayan):

• Hello, this is Ceren speaking.
• Sevim is speaking. How can I help you?
• Hold on, please. I’ll get her.

📚 Asking for Phone Numbers

Questions:

• What is your phone number?
• Can I have your number, please?
• Could you give me your contact number?

Answers:

• It is 868 468 68 88.
• My number is 0532 123 45 67.
• You can reach me at 555-1234.

⚠️ Phone Actions

• Texting: Mesaj yazma – “I’m texting my friend.”
• Calling: Arama yapma – “She is calling her mom.”

📌 Common Problems

• The line is busy: Hat meşgul

• “Speaking” = Benim (when someone asks for you)
• “Hold on” = Bir dakika bekle
• Phone numbers are read digit by digit in English
• “May I speak to…?” is more polite than “Can I talk to…?”
