🎎 Traditions — Quick Review
🕰️ “Used to” Structure (Past Habits)
- Affirmative: S + used to + V1. E.g., “She used to play dolls.”
- Negative: S + didn’t use to + V1. (use to, not “used to” in negatives!)
- Question: Did + S + use to + V1?
⚠️ Common error: “didn’t used to” yanlıştır; “didn’t use to” doğrudur. (do/does/did ile birlikte ana fiil 1. hâlinde kalır.)
🔄 “Used to” vs “Be used to” vs “Get used to”
- used to + V1 = past habit no longer true (geçmiş alışkanlık). E.g., “I used to live in İzmir.”
- be used to + V-ing/noun = accustomed to (alışkın olmak). E.g., “She is used to waking up early.”
- get used to + V-ing/noun = becoming accustomed (alışmaya başlamak). E.g., “He got used to the cold weather.”
