Birini tanımlarken boy, kilo, saç, göz gibi fiziksel özellikleri kullanırız.

⚖️ Comparing Characteristics and Appearances

İnsanları karşılaştırırken comparative ve superlative yapıları kullanırız.

🔄 Talking About Current Activities (Present Continuous)

Present Continuous Tense (Şimdiki Zaman), şu anda devam eden eylemleri anlatmak için kullanılır.

Özne + am/is/are + fiil-ing

-ing ekleme kuralları:

  • Çoğu fiil: + ing → playing, reading, eating
  • -e ile bitenler: e düşer + ing → making, writing, dancing
  • Kısa ünlü + sessiz harf: son harf çiftlenir + ing → running, swimming, sitting
  • -ie ile bitenler: ie → y + ing → die → dying, lie → lying

Zaman ifadeleri: now, right now, at the moment, at present, currently, Look! Listen!

Resimdeki eylemleri anlatma:

  • In this picture, the woman is helping an old man.
  • The children are playing in the park.
  • He is giving a speech to the audience.

🗣️ Pronunciation: /ŋ/ Sound

/ŋ/ sesi, İngilizce’de “ng” harfleriyle yazılan nazal bir sestir. Türkçedeki “banka” kelimesindeki “n” sesine benzer.

Örnekler:

  • bringing → /brɪŋɪŋ/
  • singing → /sɪŋɪŋ/
  • thinking → /θɪŋŋ/
  • amazing → /əmeɪzɪŋ/

Dikkat: /ŋ/ sesi “n” + “g” değil, tek bir sestir. Dil arkası yumuşak damağa temas eder ve hava burundan çıkar.

“I think Atatürk and Gandhi are both very inspirational people. Atatürk was the founder of the Turkish Republic and Gandhi led India to independence. In my opinion, Atatürk was more revolutionary because he changed the entire social system. However, Gandhi was more patient and peaceful. Both of them were brave, honest, and hardworking. They are the most important leaders of the 20th century.”

2. Describing Your Inspirational Character

“My inspirational person is my grandmother. She is 70 years old. She is short and slim with grey, curly hair and kind brown eyes. She is the most generous and patient person I know. She always helps people in need. She is also very hardworking — she wakes up early every morning and works in her garden. I want to be like her when I grow up.”
