📍 Prepositions of Place – Yer Bildiren Edatlar
Bir yerin nerede olduğunu anlatmak için yer bildiren edatlar (prepositions of place) kullanırız. Bu edatlar yön tarif ederken çok işimize yarar.

Edatlarla Cümle Kurma

📌 There is / There are Yapısı
Bir yerde bir şeyin var olup olmadığını anlatmak için “There is” ve “There are” yapısını kullanırız.

⚠️ Dikkat: “There is” kısaltması “There’s” şeklindedir. Ancak “There are” kısaltılmaz! “There’re” kullanılmaz.

🧪 Practice – Pratik Yapalım
Question 1: Fill in the blank: “The bank is _____ the post office and the hospital.” (between / next to)
Answer: “The bank is between the post office and the hospital.” → Banka postane ile hastanenin arasında. “Between” iki şeyin arasını belirtir.
Question 2: “There is” mı, “There are” mı? “_____ three parks in my town.”
Answer: “There are three parks in my town.” → “Parks” çoğul olduğu için “There are” kullanırız. Tekil olsaydı (a park) “There is” olurdu.
Question 3: Translate: “Hastane okulun karşısında.” → English
Answer: “The hospital is opposite the school.” veya “The hospital is across from the school.” → “Opposite” ve “across from” ikisi de “karşısında” anlamına gelir.
Question 4: “Excuse me, _____ is the museum?” Boşluğa ne gelir?
Answer: “Excuse me, where is the museum?” → Yer sorduğumuz için “where” (nerede) kullanırız. “How can I get to the museum?” da aynı anlama gelir.
Question 5: “Go straight ahead and turn left. It’s on your right.” Bu tarife göre ne yapmalısın?
Answer: Düz ilerle, sonra sola dön, aradığın yer sağ tarafında olacak. “Go straight” = düz git, “turn left” = sola dön, “on your right” = sağında.
